Commitment to Net Zero

Smart Audio Technologies Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest.This commitment supports participation in UK Ministry of Defence and Crown Commercial Service procurement frameworks and reflects our responsibility as a supplier within the defence and security sector.

Organisational Boundary

This commitment covers emissions arising from:

Scope 1: Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources where applicable

Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricityRelevant

Scope 3: Including business travel, upstream transportation and other applicable indirect sourcesThe organisational boundary reflects our UK-based operational footprint and associated supply chain activities.

Carbon Reduction Plan

Smart Audio commits to developing and maintaining a Carbon Reduction Plan aligned with Procurement Policy Note 06/21 technical guidance.The Plan will:

Establish a documented baseline year

Quantify Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions

Set measurable reduction targetsBe reviewed and updated annually

The Carbon Reduction Plan will be structured in accordance with PPN 06/21 and made available to UK Ministry of Defence and Crown Commercial Service contracting authorities as required.

Defence and Sovereign Supply Chain Context

As a developer of mission-critical communication systems, Smart Audio recognises that environmental responsibility and supply chain resilience are interconnected.

Where commercially and technically feasible, we aim to:

Support UK-based sovereign manufacturing capabilityReduce transport-related emissions through localised supply chainsImprove product energy efficiency

Engage suppliers on environmental performance

Consider lifecycle carbon impact within product design

Emissions Reduction Measures

Smart Audio is implementing and assessing measures including:

Energy efficiency improvements in office and laboratory environments

Reduction of non-essential travel through secure digital collaboration

Evaluation of logistics optimisation

Responsible management of electronic components and waste streams

Periodic review of operational energy usage

Governance and Review

Responsibility for this commitment rests with the Company Directors.

Progress against carbon reduction objectives will be reviewed annually in line with public procurement expectations.
